Tentacruel is only look as only being able to be a special wall. But with Barrier it brings a whole new challenge to facing Tentacruel. Most of the time Tentacruel is targeted from the physical side of the team, this set is very simple and easy to setup with. Use Tentacruel on a special sweeper and on the switch use barrier. After that stall by using toxic then keep surfing (rest when hp is low), or set up by getting 2 layers of toxic spikes and surf to death. Toxic is the better option since you will be stalling and u need it to beat Vaporeon if Vaporeon does not give up to switch, but toxic spikes are good if your desperate to get layers down.
The only problem is that Taunters, Phazers, and walls with natural cure will ruin this set. Make sure you have something on your team to counter incoming Gyaradoses that may pack taunt, or incoming Blisseys, Celebies, and Starmies that will create stall wars.
Other Ideas: There were 2 things not mentioned in this set. One is the ability Liquid Ooze is recommended over clear body because 99.9 of the time teams will lack a pokemon who has screech, or leer. The other thing is Mirror Coat. Since your going to be raising defence, special sweepers will start targeting you (Jolteon, Alakazam, Gengar, etc....) but toxic is more important since there are more pokemon that will create stall and wait for a crit, than there are that will be threatning to make you switch.
