| While I'm working on the contest dex, I figured it would be useful for those who wish to create their own movesets to have a list of what I deem to be good contest combo moves. In the 4th generation games, there is no such thing as "combo moves" in contests, but there are many moves that work well together. Below you can see a small selection of moves that work well on the same pokemon.
Types of Combos
In my mind, there are 3 main types of contest combos, and they are as follows:
1. First Next Turn + Four If First
This is when you use a move such as Quick Attack with a move such as Aerial Ace. Quick Attack makes sure you go first in the next turn, and Aerial Ace gives you four points if you are the first to appeal. The concept is simple enough, and here are a select few examples of both kinds of moves that you may find useful.

2. Last Next Turn + Four If Last
This is the opposite of the previous combo type. You use a move that ensures you go last in the next turn, and then a move that gives four appeal points when you go last. Here are the moves you will need.

3. Double Points Next Turn + Four If First
This is my favorite type of contest combo. It utilizes a move that doubles the points recieved next turn to give you eight points on the following turn. It requires a bit of luck, but not too much. Most, if not all, moves that double the points of the next appeal give zero appeal points. This will often lead to you having the lowest score that turn, and therefore going first the next turn, when you can use your four if first move to gain eight appeal points. Fun, right?
